Starting from
Normafa, follow the blue circuit trail along the edge of
Egyetem slope towards
St. Anna chapel on Anna-rét (Anna field). From here, walk up to the ridgeline to the crossroads and follow the blue circuit trail to the right. After passing the former Sports Hotel, bear to the right and walk among the tall beech trees, then the path winds towards the
Libegő Chairlift. Continue along the asphalt road, or if you are very fit, climb the stairs shaded by trees up to the
Erzsébet lookout on the summit of János-hegy (John Hill). The red stripe trail leads down from the summit and along a pleasant forest path to
Szépjuhászné (Beautiful Shepherdess). From here, walkers can return to the city directly by bus, enjoy the Children’s Railway, or simply continue walking along other pleasant forest walks.
Difficulty: The section preceding the lookout is steepest part of the route. After the lookout, the route drops steeply, and can be slippery in places. Natural stones have been used in places where it is uneven.
