Lóvasút Cultural and Event Centre to Erzsébet Lookout

From Lóvasút to the summit of János-hegy

Starting from the Lóvasút Cultural and Event Centre, follow the green triangle trail and proceed past the Libegő chairlift lower station, the retaining wall of Zugligeti Road, Tündér-szikla (Fairy Rock) and the Tündér-hegy quarry rest area. The green triangle trail continues along a road under the Libegő chairlift, then turns to the left. Within a 20-minute walk the route meets the winding Jánoshegyi Road twice. The second time you can make a short deviation to Átjáró-barlang (Passageway Cave) by turning right and proceeding along the road.  Returning to the green triangle trail, you can reach the upper station of the chairlift.  From here there is an asphalt road leading up to the Erzsébet Lookout on the summit of János-hegy (John Hill), but if you are fit use the stairs shaded by trees. 

Difficulty: The route climbs steady throughout, making the terrain more difficult than usual. There is a steeper climb on the last section before the lookout.
