Skiing: At present, we recommend the Kis-Norma area to all skiers, while the Nagy-Norma and Harangvölgy runs are only suitable for more-experienced downhill skiers. The Harangvölgy and Egyetem runs are excellent areas for ski touring.  For details, click HERE.

Sledding: The Anna-rét slope is suitable and safe for sledding. It is not too steep and ends in a level run which helps sledders to slow down and stop easily, avoiding accidents. For details, click HERE.

Cross-Country Skiing: There are currently two marked cross-country skiing routes marked out in Normafa Park. For details, click HERE.


Transport:

Unfortunately, there are only a few parking spaces available for visitors who drive into Normafa Park during the week, and on weekends all these spaces are usually occupied by 10 am.  We recommend that visitors use public transport whenever possible and avoid the frustration of looking for parking or the inconvenience of being turned back by police after parking areas have reached capacity during peak times.  For those that do choose to drive up, we ask them to park their vehicles in the designated parking spaces. Police, security guards and Environmental Protection Officers will fine those who block traffic or damage the natural environment.

Direct bus services to Normafa:

- Weekdays: Buses 21 and 21A depart from Széll Kálmán tér about every five minutes, with a travel time of 19 minutes.
- Weekends: As well as Buses 21 and 21A from Széll Kálmán tér, Bus 212 also runs to Normafa, departing Boráros tér between 9 am and 4 pm, with a travel time of 37 minutes.

Accidents:

Unfortunately, most of the accidents that occur on the ski runs are due to inappropriate behaviour.  We ask sledders not to use the designated ski runs because it is not possible for them to stop safely on the increasingly steep slopes.  Sledders also endanger the skiers too, so if an accident occurs, they will bear full responsibility. We ask sledders to use the designated sledding slope at Anna-rét.

On snowy weekends we provide a First Aid service, which is accessible in the First Aid room in the Normafa Visitors Centre, or by calling the Normafa Park Authority on +36204991111, during daylight hours. First Aid is provided by the Central Buda Volunteer Civil Protection Association in collaboration with the Normafa Park Authority. We can also send stretcher bearers to carry out an injured person from a place which is difficult to access back to an ambulance on the closest roadway.

Aid is also provided on snowy weekends by the Civil Natural Environment Protection Association.
